I'm using the 7.1/2 inch "X" BLOCK ruler/template by Quilt Queen.
I cut 3 @ 3.3/4 inch fabric strips for the blocks with 1 x centre I SPY block...
AND you use all cut off pieces too. They make a great border OR another block...
Once cut... you can turn the blocks various ways... & I like #2 for a border...
I made 4 blocks using the same fabric BUT with different I SPY centres.
I reversed the X Block for 2 of the blocks so I could make my chosen design.
I think the layout below would make a really great table runner...
& you could use up the off cuts in the borders as well... NO waste...
I LIKE this ruler 👍 & will use it again for sure.
I'll either follow the included layout OR add a border to each 4 block section😏.
This will eventually be a charity quilt for a child.
I hope you EnJoYeD the first S.N.O.W. day...
Turid has added something to S.N.O.W... click HeRe... to go check it out...

So nice. What I really love is that you can use the cut offs. I hate to throw anything away, and actually never do it.
ReplyDeleteYOurs looks lovely..... great ideas showcasing (and using) the ruler ..

An interesting block using the ruler… they will make a great kids quilt.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool! I'd seen quilts that looked like the block you made but had no idea they were relatively simple to do.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to use an eye spy block in the centre. It will be a very effective quilt.
