A Xmas Gift Added

Although I'm unable to make a gift this month.... I did indeed add a gift to my box for Christmas... well, I will when I get home... so I do qualify for Allie's group again this month I think. I found this in a quaint little Christmas shop in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
I think I know someone who would like it.... hope so anyways!

A FreNcH CoNNeCtiOn

Hubby and I spent a few days travelling through Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont in the USA, before adding a touch of French influence to our lives by visiting Montreal in Quebec in Canada. The weather gods were playing nice again for us as we had fantastic hot dry days and balmy nights. Hubby had to dig deep to remember his "french"... but he did well !  He managed to buy food and drinks for us and although the hotel staff didn't speak ANY english... he reserved our room. 
What would I do without HiM !   : )
Along the way we saw....

In Montreal... we walked around the OLD town, visiting lots of little shops-souvenier and art, cafe's and historical buildings. The first pic shown however wasn't taken by me... I'm just showing what the city looks like for those who have never been to it.

Montreal even put on a fireworks display for us... how cool... and we watched it from a bridge over the St Lawrence seaway. It was magnificent !  This week the fireworks were put on by Canada and last week by Australia. It's an international competition and I believe China's was fantastic.

Next, we are off to Quebec City also in Quebec province. I'll show you more pic's soon.

I made this before I left Aus...

Once again it's the 25th of the month.

Isn't this beautiful fabric for a pillow backing.

I have owned this "Aussie Christmas" fabric for some time ... and it seemed THE perfect use for it!
I quilted it with Christmas trees in the green and blue sections and then shadowed the "fishing" Santas and some of the fish.  It's a 14in pillow that will sit proudly on my lounge this Christmas.

A ShOrT StAy

Hubby and I took 5 days away from our home base here in Saint John NB and drove on over to visit my BIL in Halifax Nova Scotia.

Halifax is a beautiful city with lots to see and do and at the time there was a jazz festival on so the waterfront area was ALiVe with entertainment.  The weather was fantastic... (that's for my fellow Aussies enduring winter at home) Ooohhh I'm BaD!... 'cause the sun was shining and the temperature was on the rise!

There are lots of interesting shops to stroll through and cafe places to have a meal or a coffee break. Beautiful buildings and historic sites and statues to look at... and very friendly people to chat with.

We even had time to visit a vineyard for a taste of the local produce... hiccup! 

Before a tasty meal of the local catch of the day... yum!

We had a wonderful stay in Nova Scotia, so I thought I would share a few pic's.

Once A Season Swap

Here we go again...only this time it's something with a SpRinG feel to it. I'll get partner names out at the start of August for a September 1st mail out. Unfortunately I was limited with pic's to choose from as we are away from home... but these few sum up his life quite nicely. The gaps in hubbys life in between these pic's include much travelling, fun, good times and exciting adventures.
The last pic is of "The Family" taken at our sons wedding to our beautiful DIL in Sept 2009.
