A ChristMas Gift

Well... actually it should read....Christmas gifts... because I managed to make 5 of these little sweeties. One will be added to each Xmas card to special sewing friends to spread GooD ChEEr in December.
They are so quick and easy and a great way to use up scraps... and we ALL like that... don't we?
Plus, they are UsEFuLL, as you can always add another one to your notions.

ThiS is My FriDaY

I received my towel with topper from Cathy who was my partner in "lets exchange"... but she also added a second towel too. Cathy also sent me 3 yummy recipes which I will give the taste test in the coming weeks. Thanks Cathy.... all your gifts are GrEaT! and

This is  the 12inch block that I sent over to Maria in W.A.  Maria wished for Jacobs Ladder in cream,beige or taupe in country fabric. Maria said she can now start to play with placement in her quilt top as she has quite a few blocks now from this Quilting Block Swap Australia group.
I'm so HaPPy Maria liked my block and plans to add it into her quilt.  ThaNkS for being my PartNer!

My SeConD PhD

Remember this challenge....

Myra has spurred me on again... so now I have FiNiSheD my second unfinished project and added it to Myra's ever growing list.

I started with this.....

Then I did this.....

And now it's  FiNiShEd  and looks like this.....

I'm over the moon with the result... even if I do say so myself!

The pattern was from "Just Patchwork" in Tuncurry NSW Australia and is called "Christmas Candels".

BriNg on December 25th .... 'cause I'll be ready!
I needed to add another "stocking" to my mantle so I whipped up this brightly coloured "boys" stocking.
Now it's packed away all safe and sound until then.

BeAuT BaRGinS

I made a visit to Spotlight on Thursday night to pick up a couple of pens to write on glass for DD#1... and as I was walking out the door, I spotted an  "On Sale" sign.
Now last week I had a bit of a clean up in my cubbyhole so I moved the large plastic buckets I have under the table for storing batting and backing fabric and also boxed up the wool and needles... so I made heaps more room. However as a consequence of this extra space I noticed that while I was sewing, the foot pedal to the sewing machine was moving further away from me ALL the time ... a big nuisance as anyone who has had this happen will know... so ... back to the story of the "On SaLe" sign...
Once my eye noticed the "on sale" sign... why of course I had to check it out.. and guess what... foot pedal anti slip mats were on the table..... and for the huge cost of ... wait for it....

$1.00  yes that's 100 cents!

Now... no more problem...   WhaT A BarGiN !!!

I needed to make sure the laptop would make it safely overseas.. (a good swap MaMa needs her tools) ... and I thought my bag was a little lacking in the padding department for travel both on a plane and in a car... so ... I cut a piece of lightweight rubber to size... covered it with some bright and funky fabric... and made a padded laptop cushion... all for ... wait for it....$0.00 yes  nil ..zero.. zilch !    WhaT A BarGiN !!!

LaSt but certainly not LeASt... I just noticed that this will be My 200th Post... yeh!!!  ... and... I realised that I get sooo much pleasure out of this blog, with friends visiting, inspiration from other crafters and most importantly YOU.. and after realising that it's all for FREE... I thought...   WhaT A BarGiN !!!

Due to some personal issues which may cause me to take off on really short notice... I may have to hold off on a 200th post giveaway until later. But rest assured I will have one... so please be patient.

Friday Night Sew In

Another  "Blanket of Love" for me this month... using up the remaining full piece of TeDDy fabric I own. This one has a red binding and I used one of the decorative stitches on my machine to quilt it. I added my HeArT on the back and my LoVe and ThOuGhTs  in its stitches!
It's just a shame someone will have a need to use it.....

I then spent  about an hour or so ... working on a Christmas wall hanging that I would like to finish asap. I have been putting off working on the lead light on the window (I think its called procrastinating)... but once I started I made real progress. Now I know I will be able to finish it off quite quickly really... perhaps even over this weekend!

Swap Gift Received

I just received a lovely e-card from my partner in France advising me that my gift had been delivered.  I can now show you what I sent over the seas to Andrea.
I made a kitchen hot pad for a friend a little while ago.... and I liked it so much I decided to make another. Andrea said she was HaPPy with it and the other gifts I sent in the "Winter theme" Once a Season Swap..... so that makes it all worthwhile.

Got to have warming food during winter while reading up on craft ideas.......

Once a Season Swap

My partner this time around was Sharon from NY. Sharon is a very talented crafter who makes wonderful things.You should go by her blog HERE and see for yourself. As this gift had a  l-o-n-g  way to travel Sharon got it off early... so I am one of the lucky ones because I get to enjoy my swap gifts for longer. Obviously Sharon knows me well.. as I LoVe Christmas things...and these are just PeRfEcT !
Anyways, here is what my friend sent me.
A beautiful cross stitched piece... a mid sized wallet.... a tissue holder....3 of the cutest little Xmas hangers ever.... and 4 lovely fabrics to play with.  How spoilt am I....   VeRy !!!!
