This month I made MysELF a little gift or two to go into my stocking. My OH My I'll be surprised!... but I needed a couple of these bags and I can wait until Santa brings them... so into the box they'll go!
Yeaahh... tick another month off as  "DONE" !

It's NeVeR too early to get ready for Christmas!
Narelle started this little group early in 2011 and each month I have managed to make a little "something" for the festive season.This month it's a display mat.

I was inspired by the poinsettia flower and the use of ReD. I always think that red with white and green scream Xmas like no other colours.

ThE BIG DaY

Thank you to all my wonderful blogger friends who have sent their love and congrats to DD#1 for her big day on Saturday.
I know you'll forgive me for not personally saying it to each and every one of you...but both DD and I really appreciate your good wishes.

I will be out of action for a little while but thanks to the blogger feature of "scheduling" I will be publishing the occasional post just to keep up with groups.

Fingers crossed for the weather gods to play nice... Love Ya...

Bits -n- Pieces

Just a quick post and the last for awhile I expect....
I received this book and it's full of wonderful "Bed Runners" with matching pillows... if you're interested.

I added a crochet top to a kitchen towel. Just a quick project while watching a movie during the week... I am Sam.

I also whipped up a "bell" to hold potpourri or naphthalene or eucalyptus etc in a wardrobe.

And FYI... congrats are in order for all the lovely swappers in the Valentine - Initial Heart Swap (February) as we had a 100% success rate.

WELL DONE ladies!

And only one outstanding in the OASS (Autumn)... so come on Bev... keep it at 100% !

Finally... I expect the wonderful journal covers are starting to be mailed out...some perhaps have even arrived. I do try to get around to all the swappers blogs but I really appreciate it when you let me know that you have received your package. Makes my job soooo much easier.
REMEMBER mail out deadline~WED Mar 21st.

Also... SOON .. (perhaps the end of this month) I'll post about the upcoming ALpaBeT challenge...so as the media marketers say...

FNSI on SaTurDaY

Any bloggers in Australia and New Zealand who participated in  FNSI  have already had their sewing time... while others in other parts of the world are just about to start theirs. Visit HERE to see what others have done.
I can only speak for myself ... but I had a GrEaT night !!!!!
Pizza for dinner... yum! Fast, easy, with little clean up... fantastic!
Then off I twaddled upstairs.
Firstly... to finish off the top of my Friends with Benefits swap gift. I cannot show too much this morning BUT I don't think this gives AnYThiNg away.

Just a little of this still to be finished...

                       but so far, so good.

Christine can expect her gift on time which is a relief for me as next week I'll be extremely busy.
You'll see why later...

Next... I worked on another "CuBe".
Now I know I was asked by some to do a tut (and I will I promise)... but last night I just wanted to get this one sewn together as I had cut it out during the week. I had almost completed the blanket stitch around the numbers (alphabet on other one)...so there wasn't much left to do...
sew a little...squish a little... and another UFO became a FO.

Just had to hand stitch to close this morning... and TaaDaa... matching cubes !

Lastly... I used up a couple of skeins of yarn I had and made a neck cowl for the upcoming Australian winter.
It's ABBIE from Moda Vera (from Spotlight) and in a very pretty autumn colour. I used size 9mm needles and cast on 15 stitches (approx 5 inch) and knitted in seed stitch until all 4 skeins were knitted up, approx 46inches. Then I stitched the ends together. To wear it, it's just pulled over the head and looped back over again.... easy peasy!
I think I've started off the career of a new super model too.

I did see this beauty (which gave me the inspiration) but as my yarn wasn't as thick as the one shown I just joined my longer length together instead. This one may be next though...

And the reason for my concern in having Christine's gift ready for her on time is...

ONLY 1 WEEK until DD's BiG day...

And subsequently... family visitors from Canada until Easter.

CuTe ThinGs

I was given a pair of "Angel" sissors in a Christmas club monthly make from Cookies and Cream last year and use them quite regularly. Then while at my local quilt store I came across another cute tool to match her.

This weed has been included in the 'Jumping the Garden Fence' report (WWF-Australia PDF - 1.19mb) which examines the impact of invasive garden plants on Australian agricultural land and natural ecosystems.
It's such a shame because they are just soooo very pretty and remind me of my childhood with great delight!
