Stay at Home Robin

For anyone who has visited me in the past knows that this "sahr" started last year in July. Each month our leader Kate gives us the challenge of adding specific pieces to the starting block. At first, mine seemed to be all over the place as I had no idea where it was headed... but gradually I have worked it out and now it is coming together. We are up to round 9 this month and the challenge was to add embellishment different to last month.  Although I again added applique ( xmas tree ) I added some embroidery and some stars and a button. Of course I can't sew these on yet but this is my plan. If you would like to see the progression of my challange from July until now.... then just click on the "Round Robin" tab at the top.
Thanks, KaTe, for being a great organiser, so why not  go over to her blog for a visit.
I'm sure she would LoVe it!..

I also came across this information a few weeks back and have been meaning to share it with you. Of course all you talented and experienced quilters out there probably already know it... but I have always just added the binding usually at 2 1/2 inch for a double fold, without knowing there was a calculation to it. If you use this guide... it makes it easier, having had all the maths done for you. I found it great and have pasted it in my quilting info book.... but that's just me!

Hope you have a GrEaT PiNk day K.

Hi Cheryll, I have so enjoyed watching these blocks come together. I wasn't brave enough to do it myself ;-)
thanks for the tip on binding - have filed that away for future reference.

What an interesting concept to gradually add to a starting piece. It is looking great.
