If you are a regular visitor to gone stitchin', then you know that I am NOT in Australia at present, but in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
Saint John was the first incorporated city (May 1785) and is the largest city in the province of New Brunswick. It is situated on the east coast of mainland Canada on the Bay of Fundy - Atlantic Ocean...hence it gets cold here (for an aussie that is) with lots of dampness. The city itself is very much alive and as the cruise ships stop off here it is well marketed for the tourists. I LoVe walking through the markets where hubby and I picked up a bucket of lobster for lunch for only $9.95 and a bag of dulce. He of course (being born in Saint John) loves dulce. Now for anyone who doesn't know what dulce is... it's seaweed...and it's just AwFuL! YuK! Now I'll probably come in for some
Anyway... the population of Saint John in 2006 was 68000 with another 62000 in the metro area. It is not a large city but a quaint one. Here are just a few pic's.....I hope you enjoy your stay with me.

I would love to go there! But I'll pass on the dulce.
An old friend of my mother's, Marg Bourne, lives in St John. She celebrated her 100th birthday on June 25th. She is my sister's godmother and my sister lives in West Quaco, about twenty minutes or so from St. John, so she was able to attend. I saw "Mummy Marg" when I was out there in February. I hope your time there is full of good memories.
Hi Cheryll, I have been missing you, love the tea pot/ tea cup stall (as a teapot collecter. And the markets look wonderful, such lovely colours. Thank you for showing us around this fair city, Hugs, sue x
Hi Cheryl, for some reason my google ID is not being recognised on your blog so I have had to post as annonymous. Not sure why as I can post on other blogs, Sue B
The market looks like somewhere you could spend hours in.
One of my favorite things about blogs is seeing places all over the world that I probably will never get to see in person. Thanks for the tour.
Thanks for the photos and stay safe while traveling!
Cheryll, You are just a little bit away from where I love. I think it is about 5 hours by car. St. John's is just beautiful. The photos you have shared make me want to return there...
