Last Xmas I put up my village and thought the cloth underneath it needed a little sprucing up. I just didn't have the time to do it then but over this weekend I cut the shape of the tabletop from the white (snow) fabric and then added some applique... to make it look like a mantle ... well sort off... but I'm really happy with it's look now. Of course I'll have to wait until next Xmas to see it under the village again.

So I finished the embroidery on the first block I did manage to piece together last May.
Now onto block 2...
ALL these pieces of art are made using chicken wire... yep... chicken wire... it's incredible!

And certainly not least in the importance of this post... I have a sincere apology to make to O'Faigh. You see in December I received a package from this lovely friend and took pic's to post about her gifts and then thought that if I showed what she had sent me... other swap players may think that they should send a thank you too. THAT is something I didn't want to happen. I host swaps because I want to NOT to get thanks for... anyways, I realised that O'Faigh may think I thought her gifts unimportant or me to be unappreciative... definitely NOT the case... so here it what my friend sent me.

You have done a great job with the table cloth for your mini village - perfect. Love that chicken wire art too - can't imagine how many cuts and scrapes he has had a long the way - bet his tetanus is up to date! happy stitching!

LOVE that tablecloth, you are brilliant! Really darling design and it will add SO much to your display. Wow. Love the night before Christmas block, that is really cute. The sculptures are amazing, but chicken wire? I'm thinking you'd need some really tough gloves to work with that! Such a great table cloth for the little village - so cute. I agree, bows on the corners would set it off nicely. Love the cute stitchery too, and the wire sculputes are indeed interesting. I have made 2 versions of the Noah and friends, one as a BOM in the traditional pastels and another in brights with black blanket stitch so they looked cartoon like. Cant wait to see yours.
