ThRee GrOupS

The item I finished for
APril's Monthly Make is ...

Another "Tea Pot Cosy"...

I just LoVe this cute little pattern and thought this one would go great in a kitchen of similar colours. Hope so anyways!

Visit HERE to see all the other "monthly makes".

The second finish for April, falls into the "Christmas Through The Year" group, which is helping me to be all ready for Christmas. Visit HERE to see the other elves and their gifts.

It's a HEART... obviously...
made from red and white felt.

I've decorated it with ribbons and buttons... and I'll add some lavender in between the soft fibre filling just before giving it as a Christmas gift. It can then hang anywhere in the house... or on the tree... and should smell wonderful throughout the holidays!

It really was easy to make (just weave the felt) and I used up what embellishments I had on hand... but you could use anything... lace... ricrac... fancy stitches... etc.
Tick another GIFT off the list... hip hip hooray!
And the other finish is in... BOMs Away on Mondays.

I've completed block 4 in "The Night Before Christmas" quilt.
Still have a lot left to do but it will be all ready for Xmas.

Alphabet challenge OPENS tomorrow.

MucH BeTTeR NoW

I went upstairs into my cubbyhole...
and found a mess all over the floor... yikes !

Pieces of paper, patterns, applique bits-n-pieces, projects, idea sketches, even a magazine or two had fallen off the shelf. Of course I picked it up but then decided it just had to go away!

It made this little area sooo much better...
now I can play again!
I think I need to tackle THIS next!
Fabric bits for Applique
Do you have an area where the mess gremlin accumulates stuff?
I seem to have several... might need a tidy fairy to set up house!
I have sent out emails with partners details in the Once A Season Swap... so if you haven't received yours... check your mail spam box... and then please contact me.

In frOm tHe CoLd

Arrived back home today... to a little more heat than down south...bbrrrr... it turned cold! Well cold for this part of the world! ... and as I LoVe the heat...any HINT of a chill is enough for me to go hide... lol.

Perhaps a slight exaggeration on my part...grin
But it was chilly...

I delivered the "breast cancer bags" to the Wollongong Hospital and they were ear marked for delivery to the Figtree Hospital. I was only too happy to help with my six little bags. My next lot of bags will go to the John Hunter Hospital up here near me.

This swap is now CLOSED. I'll get partners out asap and I hope everyone enjoys this WINTER theme swap.

Remember MAILING deadline is MAY 31st at the LATEST!

Hints
·         Using baking paper under your fusible appliqué protects the ironing board.
·         Cover the rear side of your ruler with clear contact. It will make it less slippery and protect the ruler’s markings.
·         Wash those new fat quarters in a delicates wash bag, the type from the lingerie shop. This helps them to fray less.
·         Add 7/8” to the finished measurement of a half square triangle, cut a square this size and you can then cross cut for 2 triangles.
·         Use a walking foot to attach your binding.

Lest We Forget

The ANZAC tradition was forged on April 25th 1915 when the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula. It marked the start of a campaign which lasted eight months and resulted in some 25,000 Australian casualties including 8,700 who were killed or died of wounds or disease. The bravery and spirit of those who served on the Gallipoli Peninsula shaped a legend, and so the "Anzac" became a part of the Australian and New Zealand lexicon.

The Ode
They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun
and in the morning,

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.

LEST WE FORGET
Cheryll...

I hope everyone had a great evening at their SEW-In... or STITCH-In... or CROCHET-In...OR  whatever?
Click on over to HERE to see what everyone else worked on.
Thanks Heidi... it was another successful night for me at least.
