ThaT's BeTTeR...

OMG... I'm almost too embarrassed to show this but... here goes...

I was having a clean up in my cubby hole over the weekend...  and although I had PLaNNeD to make a new cover one day, I was so disgusted at the state of mine I thought... NO~ now is the day to "just do it"!

SO ... first things first.
The board was on legs and
looked like this... just dreadful!

SO off came the legs...

I then used the trusty staple gun to tidy up the padding...

Quickly...
and I mean QUICKLY, drew a pattern ??
(this term used very loosely, grin)...

I had this wonderful fabric that was printed with sissors which was purchased just for this particular job ages ago. SO up to the cutting table I ran... cut out the shape, overlocked it... stitched a hem and gathered it with elastic...
wet it thoroughly in the basin... then left it to dry... on the board in the sun.

and here it is NOW.
WOW... what a difference!

I actually added some new shelves in my cubbyhole too and have placed the ironing board on top of it (without it's legs of course) and added a few little touches here and there.
Makes the whole room "brighter" somehow.
I'm a HaPPy quilter now.... yippee!
MAKE OVERS...
"Thanks...
I had it done at that fabulous new salon downtown!"

A nip here, a tuck there........
you look marvelous dahling!

A great makeover. The new cover looks to bright and perfect for your space. It is a shame the ironing board covers do not last to long :o(

I just put a towel on mine - replace with another while the one is washed/dryed. Your's is very pretty though.

I love your new ironing board cover. I've seen a couple of ironing boards done and keep thinking I should do mine. One day when I have nothing to do! Your sewing cabinet looks gorgeous with all your lovely things.
