I attended FNSI (Friday Night Sew In) with all my online friends last night. How did YOU go? Successfully... I hope!
I had previously made the flimsy, sandwiched it and partially quilted it, so last night I finished the quilting.... stitched on the binding both by machine and by hand... then hid the tails... so this morning, it's all finished... ooppss... still needs a label... duh... will do that tomorrow!
I used this pattern from KariePatch Designs called "Playtime". My friend HeLeN from HERE has used this several times and I wanted to make one also. Helen was very generous with her hints about the twist block! Thanks HeLeN!
The play rug is for a baby boy and it's called a Twist of Lemon. I've added play rattles and soft toys by removable rings for bubs to play with and the quilt measures 50 inches square. I quilted using "in the ditch" "cross hatch" "shadow outline" and some "free motion".
So... the reason why I'm TicKeD Off...
is because this ticks FNSI and My MonThLy MaKe group commitments...
yippee!

A big tick to you Cheryll, that is one great quilt with all the extra's for the bub to play with. It actually reminded me of our oldest child, I could put a rug/quilt down on the grass and she wouldn't crawl of it. Hated grass. I guess that is why now she has fake lawn in the back yard!!!
Happy days.

This quilt is SO cool! I wish I knew someone pregnant so I could make them one of these! Great job!
Yay, indeed! Lovely finish for the little bub!
What a fabulous play mat. Love the idea of the toys...
the Twist looks interesting too.
Great finish for a Friday night! Love the playmat and the extras of the toys, such a cool idea. That twist block is very tricky. It was lovely (virtually) sewing with you.
Nice work Cheryll, perfect colours for a little blokes quilt.
Cheryll that is just too cute - you did a wonderful job, girl!
