BiTs & PieCeS

A few changes around the house lately hasn't allowed me much time for sewing ... but I have managed to get a  few items off the top of my cubbyhole cupboard this week.
For ages now, I have been wanting to fill a few of my pin cushions with crushed walnut shells, so I pulled three apart & filled them again. Now they sit firmly on the table tops just itching to be used...  Job #1...
A Christmas stitchery WallHanger which was a gift, needed a hanger on the back...
It's those  LiTTLe jobs that we NeVeR get to... Job #2...
I also managed to finish a quilt top. It's for a birthday gift in August... wow ... I'm soooo ahead on this one
The flimsy has now made it's way to Julie for her to work some quilting magic.
This quilt was started (& almost completed) on a retreat last October... but then left alone until last week.
I'm really happy with the way it looks... so fingers crossed that the birthday boy likes it too.
Of course I will show it later in full once the binding has been added & sewn down.

I hope YoU have been having a creative time lately...
like my "motto" button says...

Some great things happening in the cubbyhole...the weight of the walnut shells makes a big difference to the pincushions doesn't it. Is always exciting sending a quilt off to be quilted...one step closer!!

Your pin cushions are pretty... Filling them with crushed walnut shells is something I don't know much about. Do they have an odour? A nice nutty one? Made me even more curious now! Shame I don't eat walnuts as I would smash the shells up myself to see what they are like in a pin cushion... Curious!!

Funny isn't it Cheryll, that small things can sometimes just get put off & put off and then they end up being so easy to do?! I bet the pincushions feel good, & wow super-organised with the quilt , well done!

Great idea refilling your pin cushions. I know what you mean about finishing off the little things needing to be done. I wonder why we do that. Hmmm.

Smart move with the walnut shells. They do make a difference.
The Christmas stitchery looks great. Love the fabric in the border, too.
