My WeeK

ended by enjoying FNSI with Wendy & her friends last night.
You can see who else made it to Friday Night Sew In ... over HeRe...

I  appliqued, fused & traced a few more BoYs ToYs blocks...
& that's always a FuN thing for me to do.

<> <> <> <> <>

During the week I was gifted 9 blocks... slightly different colours but all the same design... but there were simply NoT enough to make a quilt.
I found some suitable fabric in my stash & made 6 accompanying blocks.

I again trimmed using my rotating mat & block lock ruler... makes it's so easy...
& now all the blocks are waiting to go together at some point next week.
NO...  I'm not getting paid to advertise the mat or ruler... lol... I just love them.

Rotating mats are fab for trimming.
Love your boy blocks. That plane though. My boy would have loved a airplane quilt when he was little :)

Some young fellow is going to absolutely love the boys toys quilt. Such fun blocks. Like you, I love my rotating mat for trimming blocks, although I don’t have the block lock ruler. I just press the seams open and use a regular square ruler. It will be a pretty quilt.

Love your boys quilt appliques

I totally agree about the block lock ruler - certainly a game-changer for HST of any size.

I also have a fabulous rotating mat - after trying a few I have a great one now.
happy putting the scrappy one together.

The blocks for boys toys are looking great. Lots of fun and wonderful colours.
Yes, I have only just discovered those rulers myself and I endorse your comments whole heartedly.

Love your purples.... and please, what brand rotating cutting mat do you like? I've tried one but didn't like it. So I've got my eye out for one that really works. Or maybe I'll just use smaller mats and turn them....

What is the brand of your rotating cutting mat? I've got one that I am just not thrilled with. Olfa usually has good products but this one is not worth the extra money in my opinion. Your flower blocks are very pretty. I'd say the ones you were gifted must be pretty too!
