It was a terrible shock to see the devastation Christchurch sustained.... a reminder of the earthquake we felt here in Newcastle NSW in 1989. I hope the number of survivors continue to rise and loved ones are reunited with family and friends.
Our hearts go out to our pacific neighbours.

It is terrible. As a NZ citizen I am very sad indeed. Have been to the cathedral myself. Most beautiful city in NZ ! Praying for everyone !
Just heard from a friend vacationing in New Zealand and thank goodness they had left Christchurch a few days prior to the earthquake. My heart goes out to the families of the dead and injured!
As I sit here the tele is telling me there is a cyclone alert for us up North.
It is all so sad.

The world just seems to be rocking and rolling all over the place. I have cousins in New Zealand. Fortunately they do not live close to the earthquake.
