A LittLe NuDge goes a LoNg wAy

This is one of those  b-o-r-i-n-g  but necessary posts...

Firstly...All the  Once a Season Swap packages should have been posted and received by now. I know that the Canadian postal service was on strike but mail is on the move again so deliveries should be back to normal by now I think. If you haven't received your "gift" please email me so I can chase it up for you.

Secondly... The mail out deadline for the Santa Sack Swap is almost upon us...July 1st....so get wrapping! I know that some of you have organised between yourselves to mail gifts all together...and that's just great...but for the others...remember to send the "sack" together with at least 2 gifts. These gifts DO NOT have to be Christmassy...just gifts!  I'll add "Mr Linky" (here on this blog) in a few days so that we can all link up and go visit each others' blog and view all the pretty sacks or bags!
How much FUN will that be !!!!

Finally ... Lets Exchange names need to be in by midnight JUNE 30th (Canadian time - as this is where I am at the moment) for our Bread and Button swap. Our bread basket and our 4 novelty buttons should be all wrapped up and waiting to go out to their new homes. I'll email names and postal addresses asap after closing time...so just email me if you are interested and intend to play along...
I'll list names tomorrow so you can check to make sure I have you down..... see you then!

REMEMBER:  please enclose YOUR name, blog and email address when you send your gifts out. Some partners are receiving packages and are unable to THANK the sender... so attach a little note or card.

Hugz.....Cheryll

ChristMas Thru the YeaR

Another month has passed since the last item was added to my Christmas box of gifts. I made another three "Bon Bons" with a LOT more still needed... but hey.. it's a start. My lovely DD's and DIL all want them for their table at Christmas time... so of course MuM just has to whip up a few each month.
But that's what's so great about this group... that's what it's for...getting "things" done... and so far- it's working out for me!  Thanks Allie.... you da best !

Go on over to Allie's blog HERE to see what everyone else has made... you'll be inspired!

Santa Sack Gifts

Yesterday I said I would show you the two sacks I used for my "1 Xmas Item" ....so here they are.
I posted off my Santa Sack with the July gifts included, to both my partners in this swap...
and now that they have received their packages, I can show you what the sacks look like.
Here is Kathy's.....

And here is Laurie's....

I made them individual sacks with different colours etc because they are both special swap mates and I wanted them to know it, even though I am doing two swaps.
I also sent off these gifts... but of course I cannot show you what I actually sent... not until December...but these gifts were put together with their interests in mind. I hope they both like them.

ChriStmaS SaCk - A JuNe IteM

Narelle hosts a group every month where we are encouraged to make one Xmas item and keep it until Christmas. That way we'll all be a little better prepared for December... ever notice how it sneeks up on us all each year....so this is what I finished for this month.  I can only show you a peek today as it's part of the Santa Sack Swap.
You'll get to see this one and the item from last month.... tomorrow!
This is just to prove I did indeed make an item... just in case you thought I was fudging!

I think these sacks qualify for this project...
after all...  they ARE for Christmas ?
Why not drop by and visit Narelle to see what every other elf  has made this month.

A SaCk off To TasSiE

This parcel was sent to Kathy... and she lives in Tasmania.
 I know that sometimes mail can take a little more time to some places but this package arrived there in a few days...in plenty of time for her to open her sack before the deadline of July 1st.
Kathy... quilters honour... only the one little parcel now... the rest has to wait!
There were a few more items in Kathy's package.. some for next month too... but Kathy understood that I would not be in town when the next package was due to be posted.
Do you think I should get the fairies to check in on Kathy "just to be sure " (as the Irish would say), that they are still unopened ?.... no... I think I can trust my blogger mate!..... lol  !

SacK and GiftS

I posted off Laurie's santa sack and gifts before I left as Laurie lives in New Zealand and I didn't want her gifts to be late arriving. Laurie could only open the wrapped present that said "open this one " (as it was the sack) ....BUT not the others ... quilters honour... not until December!

I'll show you tomorrow just what the sack looks like...
if you would like to come back then and visit me again.

BreAD and BuTTon ExchanGe

Shez and I exchanged bread baskets and buttons a little earlier than the other players in Lets Exchange due to my circumstances. Here are the lovely baskets.. yes two.. which I received in the mailbox... together with the unusual buttons Shez included.

Shez also added a lovely kitchen towel in matching fabric... so my kitchen will look wonderful with these new additions. Thanks My FrieND.....

Then Shez also added a lovely scarf for my daughter... how thoughtful is that!.

How are you going with your "basket and buttons" ?
DON'T FORGET to let me know you want to play along when you've finished your masterpiece.
I'll get out the names of partners on July 1st.
Ooohhh... how exciting... visit here on July 5th to sign up to Mr Linky (for those who are playing along that is) then go visit and enjoy some sswweeett  eye candy I'm sure!

Half Way Round the World

In case you didn't realise, I usually live in Australia... but this post is coming from New Brunswick Canada. We had a very "hurried" flight over but the wonderful news is that hubby got to see and sit with his Mum again. She is very weak but her first words to him were ..."Oh hi Rick...." and later, in a very special moment they shared, she said that she didn't think she would get to see him again... but she did ... and that's wonderful for them both!
"Thank You" to all my friends who knew that we had received bad news and had sent their good wishes and prayers.  It was really appreciated.

Hugs  Cheryll

BlocK SwaPs

Lynette, who was my May partner in the 6inch Block Swap group, sent me these little beauties... and I sent Lynette 2 x basket blocks. We both wished for red and white... how cool....!

I also wanted to show the 2 blocks I sent to Michele in April. I haven't heard whether Michele has received them or not yet. Michele wished for any block in pink, black and white.
The block on the right is called "Symmetry in Motion" and the other ?? I forget...oopppss!

I also belonged to Block Swap Adventure and in March I sent over this 12in block to Tamera.
Tamera wished for a variation to the Friendship Star in Orange and Brown (Fall colours).

~~~*~~*~~~
It's time to set the record straight....I've already had my 200th post so now it's time for the giveaway.
I'll put together a little something for one of you... so if you would like to leave a comment on this post only, I'll get the very famous ... "Sir Random Generator" to pick a name next Wednesday June 8th (noon-EST in Australia)
Let me know if you have a lucky number in your comment...
that's it!
Then we (in Australia that is) can enjoy the
Queens Birthday  l-o-n-g  weekend!
It will be a gift to her partners mother for her birthday in November... oh don't worry Kath doesn't read my blog.... so I should be OK to have it all finished by then..... not so sure about the June 30th deadline for my PhD diploma....Oh well!
I am making it up as I go...well mostly... I did draw a sketch to start but I'm "feeling" my way so to speak.. so wish me luck!
This is the lower section of a 3 part wall hanging.
