We SuRviVeD IreNe

Thanks to all my friends who wished us well.....
We survived hurricane Irene and although we were trapped in our hotel room after 10pm with no air con or elevators.. just too many steps from the 37th floor... we did see another side to New York city that not many people / visitors get to see.
New York city streets with ....NO people....NO cars.... No cabs....!!!!!
Absolutely NoNe ... before Irene hit !

New York... the city that NeVeR sleeps...took a 24 hour NaP... ~

We did get out sightseeing today and I managed to purchase a couple of souveniers.....

And we were also in Boston Mass, when....
So this was also added to my wardrobe....lol !

We walked about 10 klms today as the subways were not operating. We hit the pavement and covered lots of the tourist spots with little congestion. By this afternoon though the streets were getting back to normal. We hope the transportation system is up and running tomorrow as my poor feet won't be able to do the same again!  AND, I want to do some ShOppInG !!
Anyways, the World Police and Fire Games (which hubby is playing in) has also had to postpone some events.. so tomorrow we hope to hear more from them too.
The opening ceremony went ahead last Friday (pre Irene) and it was just fantastic.

Fingers crossed that all will be back to normal in the morning... xx

Ps... please don't leave a comment on this post...
I just wanted to say ThanK YoU for all your well wishes!

i dont think i would have survived nyc with out the subway system.. we walked so much as it was but the subway was such a help getting to where we wanted to go. i wish we could have gotten together while you were there and we were there. but we missed you by 4 days..
