FirsT of AugusT

My oh my... where is this year going?

Origin of August:
August was the 6th month in the early Roman calendar, named after Julius Caesar Augustus.
August flower:   Gladiolus.
August has two birthstones, PERIDOT and SARDONYX: Peridot is among the oldest known gemstones. It ranges from olive to lime green, sometimes with a brownish tinge. Sardonyx is a gem with white and brown bands and it is believed to have mystical powers: it eliminates negative thinking!

But the most important event today is... HorSeS BirTHdaY...

On the sewing front...
I've been adding some leaves...

And I purchased a new tool...
Can NEVER have enough of these, can we...
A "wavy" ruler.
As a reminder too... Santa Sack 2012 gifts deadline is TODAY as well. So get those parcels off to your partner ASAP.

I'll let Shez explain the wave - I know what it is for. My gifties have been sent and received and I think squeezed and shaken. I hope for us here, August brings some cooler weather as well as rain.
