WOOFA ufo... #5

I listed this project for March ... but that never happened... but I did manage to make a start on it in April.
I'll be trying to finish this "challenge" project during the month of MaY...

AnD... seeing it was FNwF last night...

I pinned the last few blocks (perhaps overkill but I find it easy this way)... 

then sewed the curve... nice & steady...

and before I knew it I had ALL the blocks together...

24 of 24.

Hopefully you will set your goal for the month too... then...

WeeK 6... PhYsiCaL DiSTanCinG

My cubbyhole is a little less cramped now with ALL the sewing that's been going on. I have a lot more cupboard space... however ... I don't have ANY empty boxes.

WhY is THaT?

Most quilters will have their own answer to that question... but mine is...

 a never ending passion for cutting up fabric & creating something new...💭

Anyways... this week I managed to sew a few "string" blocks together... 15 in fact.

That leaves 20 to go...🧵

Both DD's wanted a machine cover... so it was a great opportunity to make them one during this lock down. DD#1 wanted hers featuring black dotty fabric...
while DD#2 wanted a more modern patchwork look.
I worked on DD#1 first... as I had the fabric she wanted in my stash.

It's my design... simple but effective AnD... most importantly... DD#1 loves it.

DD#2 fabric arrived (courtesy of the postie) so I made a start on her's too...

And hubby has been keeping busy too... PaiNTinG...
Not his favourite job... BuT it has helped pass the time...& it's clean & fresh inside.

APRiL 25th...

WeeK 5... PhYsiCaL DiSTanCinG

The weeks are starting to roll together & I am never quite sure which day it is when I wake up BuT we are coping & doing quite well really...

This week more blocks were sewn together ... the total now stands at... 16 of 24.

The 24 inch x 30 inch hospital cot quilt was also finished.

I joined the last block to the lower row of my GDO quilt ...

My "white/lights" bobbin box was empty... so that had to be remedied...

And another quilt pattern & fabric that's been in a box for YeaRs... (2012)

has now seen the light of day.

Funnily enough... it's working with circles again...

WooFa in April

APRiL is chaLLenGe month # 4... & I'm HaPPy to announce...
the  Once Upon a Time  quilt by "Kids Quilts"... has now been finished.
Miss Sophie GD#2... received it for her birthday & loves it as much as I do.

The quilt measures 63 in x 83 in & was made in her favourite colours of PiNK, PurPLe and ReD... with a touch of GReeN... She's only 5yo.
The quilting was done by Julie in a gorgeous "BoW" pattern & it looks PeRFecT.
It's only been waiting since 2017 but has now been ✔ off my...

And a BoNuS this month... I finished another challenge item as well... yippee...

The Monica Poole Bag called Park Lane Hand Bag has also been completed.

This bag was originally started late 2012... & this month went from

To ThiS... 

 and it only took me 7 years...

I just don't understand WHY it took me so long to finish this gorgeous bag.

DH cut me a laminate hard base which is a PeRFecT fit inside the base cover.

Last Night

... I didn't feel like sewing really...
so after making this quick & easy SCiSSoR KeePeR...
I called it quits & watched a movie.

Sorry I was such poor company at FNSI Wendy...😕

WeeK 4... PhYsiCaL DiSTanCinG...

I hope everyone is managing to stay safe... AnD sane...
This WiLL end & some form of normality will be within reach for most of us. 
I miss visits from my children & hugs from grandies terribly...

I completed block  1 of my Santa's Tree Skirt... by adding all possible embroidery.
I enjoy the combination of applique and embroidery so I'm looking forward to tracing out the next block... BLiTZeN...

I also heard a "pouch" calling to me... saying... make me ...make me ...
So I did...

I made another simple one too... both have a zip closing & both are fully lined...

& I'm happy to advise... I'm NOT hearing voices any more... 🙋

I also played with  "curves"... & ... managed to sew a few blocks together...

After finding a CuTe partial panel or fabric piece... from who knows where...
& adding a few borders to make it to size 24in x 30in...
I now have another PICU cot quilt flimsy.

I finished the embroidery & applique on the last block of my Girls Day Out quilt...
I added the borders too... so now I can finish sewing the quilt together.
