I'll be DoWn in

A jiffy is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second.
Thus the saying, I will be there in a jiffy.

I often call down to my darling hubby from my cubbyhole..."yep..I'll be right down"...
usually for a cuppa.. either that ....or he's hungry....lol !
But what hubby doesn't realise is that you cannot stop in the middle of stitching or cutting or organising .. and just go cold turkey.. and go downstairs. Oh noooo... it takes planning... when and where you can StOp....so you know where to pick it up again and not lose that stroke of genius that was emerging.
So any wonder that a ...."jiffy" .... turns into a "sec" ... or a "minute" ....or "just give me 5" ...or "soon".......and finally ... "later".
I think he knows me well...because the cup of tea is often delivered to me upstairs...
Hubbies..... don't ya just LoVe 'em.

ThanKs Mr PosTmaN

Once again the mailman stopped at my door with lots of
SuRpRiSeS.
Firstly I received a RAK (random act of kindness) from Carol... just look at ALL the goodies Carol sent me! WOW ! Carol makes the most amazing pillows ..why not go over and say HeLLo!

Then a special gift from a special blogger FriEnD who wanted to make up for a lost block... just so thoughtful of you, Sue. Sue organises block swap groups.. stop by and check them out.

Finally... but definitely not least... my "Hot Pad" arrived from Natasha. Can you guess where Natasha lives? No.. not wonderland.. although it's just as pretty as... Canada.....because I wished for a pad from the country of the person sending to me. Isn't it just sensational...  I LoVe it.!!  Natasha joined into my "Lets Exchange" group... and I'm HaPPy that she did!

Somewhere the fairies must be fast asleep, exhausted after waving their magic dust over me.

A Wonderful Week

I hope everyone had a fantastic and safe Easter break.
I had a really great week. All the family got together over the holidays with lots of love and laughter filling our home. I also stole a little bit of time to catch up on some sewing and even the mailman played his part by delivering a great package from my partner Pat. Leona paired us up in her "Mug Rug" swap and Pat certainly spoilt me. Look at what Pat sent me.... I'm soooo lucky! ThAnKs PaT... big time!!!!!
Beautiful & colourful mug rug!
Plus ALL this !
See.... I told you I was LuCkY !
~~~*~~*~~~
As you probably know I have a "Lets Exchange" going to swap a kitchen hand towel. Well, I noticed that most of my towels in my kitchen were looking tired so I thought I would replace them AND  work out the pattern size to make the quilted towel topper for my partner, by practising on mine. I purchased a towel, cut it in half and topped the first one..... no... it was too long... try again on the other... yep... perfect size. Now I can make one for  ???  and send it off next week.
How are all the "exchangers" going?
Creating mini masterpieces? I bet you all are!
Just practising !!!
~~~*~~*~~~
I also received my block from Terri in "Quilting Block Swaps Australia" and am very HaPPy with it... so ThAnK YoU, Terri. I've added it to my box of blocks which are starting to add up. I'll have a beautiful quilt before too long I'm sure! Its a "Bear Paw" block in Autumn tones.... soooo pretty!

~~~*~~*~~~
This was the little peek of the block I showed to Melody... just in case she was watching at the time... but now it has arrived at her home so here is the complete block.......
Apparently she likes OwLs...?
And Melody LiKeD it too !!!!   yippeee.....
Thanks for the Honour
I would like to ThAnK 2 lovely ladies for awarding me the
"Stylist Blogger" award.
and another friend,
Joyce at  http://youngbydesign.blogspot.com/... so why not go visit and see what wonderful things they have to share.
Once you accept this award you are supposed to tell 7 things about yourself... so here goes:-
1. I grew up in Sydney (Australia) but now live in Lake Macquarie (160 klm north).
2. I am married to a Canadian and lived in Canada for a couple of years.
3. I played netball and tennis as my sports.
4. I love to eat AnYThiNg caramel and I love the SmeLL of lavender.
5. I worked for EMI records (in Sydney) and met Sir Cliff Richard at a work function.
6. I like many colours but I would say my favourite is green.
7. I don't like people who use their phones while driving.... my pet peeve!
I will choose the blogs I would like to nominate for this award and I'll make contact with them via email.
Thanks for taking the time to read my dribble.......!
~~~*~~*~~~

After sitting and reading through ThaT... I think I should offer you something......
If any of my WoNdErFuL followers who like to applique, would like a CD of applique templates, just leave me a comment and I'll make a draw of a couple.

Now these templates are NOT a commercial product nor are they for sale... but instead are copies of colouring book pages and other childrens books. So you must have an understanding of how applique goes together to use them and therefore you shouldn't be a beginner. There are easter bunnies, eggs, chicks and others. There is also a resizer application which would allow you to print out the template in various sizes... without any trouble. It's a collection put together by my brother for me personally, but I would like to share it with you... just because it's EaStEr soon!

I'll randomly pick the new owners on Saturday, April 23rd 2011.

EasTer TiMe

With Easter just around the corner I made this little 12inch mini and placed it on my entrance table. Now all my family, friends and guests will be WeLcOmeD by this cute little fellow.
I was inspired by "The Easter Bunny" by Melinda Storey, from Patchwork & Stitching Vol 3 No 12.
There is a story behind the inflated bunny. She came all the way from New Mexico (USA) to Australia and I've had her in my company for 33 years. Yes it was 1978 when then fiance' came out of a little store with her under his arm with a bag of M&M's (unknown to me at that stage) and said Happy Easter my LoVe! And so every year she and M&M's have brightened our Easter!

A face only a any MoThEr would LoVe!

~~~*~~*~~~
By now all the lovely ladies in Lets Exchange #2 should have received an email with their "secret" partner's details. If by some chance you haven't,,,,, please let me know. You have a month to work your magic because mailing deadline is
May 15th, 2011.
~~~*~~*~~~

I remade a "lost in the mail" block and sent it toTeresa again.... and this time it made it!

This is the block I made for Terri... my Feb block swap partner. Didn't show it earlier....ooopppsss!

Stay at Home Robin

Anyone playing along with Kate in this Stay At Home Robin is up to round 10 with only 2 rounds to go. This month we could finish off by adding some more embroidery or applique so I added the Xmas teapot in the top right corner. Then I added 3 Xmas bells in the centre and finally a Xmas message of... Ho Ho Ho. I'm HaPPy with the way it all finally came together... as anyone who has been following this project knows ... I didn't know where it was headed as we were only given intructions month by month. But I think I will be able to hang it in the house next Christmas....and not in the garage as I had thought...lol !

Anyways, if you would like to see what everyone else has been up to go HERE and visit. All the players would love to hear what you think.... but remember to be kind....lol !
