Oh Christmas Tree

Robyn is my December partner in
Robyn wished for a "Tree" block either in applique or pieced, so I took a little gamble artistic licence and put together this block for her. So I don't spoil the shock surprise... I just took a little snippet pic to tease worry tease her and perhaps Robyn should be sitting down when she opens it . Just a thought!
Anyway I hope it's OK Robyn and you like it ??
I have my fingers crossed !!

I'll make plans, ready for a quick get-away and show the whole block when Robyn receives it.
Wonder where my frequent flyer points can take me?   :)

FNSI in NoVeMbEr

Well... technically I had a Saturday Morning Sew In.... but I figured it was all about the time we find for ourselves to do what we want.... right?....so I guess I can put my name down as having participated with all the other FNSI ers....
AnYWAy this is what I accomplished.....

But first I wanted to say a ThAnK YoU to Alex for the lovely little package that arrived on my doorstep.
It was completely unnecessary as I wanted to make a block for her "Get Well / Feel Better" quilt, BUT I do appreciate the thought and I will use the beautiful fabric in a project asap.

Just LoVe the colours.....

Now back to "FNSI" or in my house "SMSI"
My #2 daughter asked me to make a table runner for her to give as a gift for Xmas.... and as I don't have much time left to finish all the OtHeR projects I have on the go, I decided to make it using a panel... (I think the inspiration came from SuE (Quilted Hugs & Other Nonsense) who kindly added some fabric to my  block swap package) so I checked through my stash and found enough suitable backing and sashing to suit and cut it all ready for sewing. I even cut the batting and packed all the "stuff" into a plastic bag ready to go. I'll get onto it ASAP.

Now the reason I had some time to myself this morning is because all the BoYs have gone off to the beach for a surf and my SIL (sister-in-law) was on the deck reading... so I could sneak off, well...not really sneak maybe just quietly shuffled off to my sewing room and cut away to my hearts content... although it was only a mere 1/2 hour I suppose... anyway while looking for the above fabric I came across some hand stitched appliqued squares that were hidden in the bottom of a drawer, so I figured I could make them into another (and the LaSt) "Blanket of Love", however one was not quite finished...... so I just sat on the back deck and finished it off.... yeah.... I haven't decided how this blanket will come together yet... but inspiration will come later or at least I hope it will..
As we all know there are NO wasted works of art ...just unfinished masters.!!!

PhEw....That's EnOuGh about Me...
How did you go enjoying your own personal FNSI?
I hope you managed to take a minute or two for yourself.... and I hope I get another few minutes to go check out ALL your blogs to see your achievements. Until next visit.... EnJoY !

Across The Sea

This festive block arrived yesterday from my October swap partner Sandi, who lives in Florida. It's just what my home needs to feel that Christmas is in the air.... and just around the corner. I'm already getting excited... and would like to start to decorate... but I'll make myself wait until December 1st.
Thanks Sandi for this wonderful addition to my project!

Just LoVe the CoLoUrS

This is the block I made and sent off to Sandi. Sandi wished for any block in Australian print fabrics.
The kangaroo and the cocky's will like their new home in the US I'm sure.

Enjoying The Weather & Wildlife...
My sister-in-law who is visiting from Canada cannot understand what it would be like to have a HoT Xmas... instead of snow... but unfortunately they leave at the end of November so won't get to experience it... at least this year.
We have travelled the tourist route and done the tourist "things". We have shown them the local wildlife both in a sanctuary and in our own backyard. They are enjoying the sunny days (I think) and cool off in the pool when they overheat. It's nice to have them here and I know hubby LoVeS when family members visit him here in OZ.
