One Short of an Even Dozen

With only 4 days to go I finished another little blanket.... but I think this will be my last.... darn.... at least for a little while. But before I take them to the hospital I will do OnE MorE ...can't take an odd number... it just feels.... well.... odd!!!
So I'll make it up to 12.... Yes.. that's a better number isn't it!
This one was made with 70's fabric on the front... or at least that's was it reminds me of... and I picked up some funky looking backing fabric that I thought was just perfect for it.
Now we're on CoUnTdOwN mode 'til my hubby's sister arrives.....

The colours are very soft and sweet.

CLeVeR LittLe PuGgY

ThAnK YoU OnCe AgAiN
This morning I found another package on my doorstep. Obviously it didn't fit in the letterbox so it was left at the front entrance. A short sharp knock on the door preceded a thump on the ground.

I looked out and this is what I found. The very Crafty Pug had mailed a wonderful BOL to me to be added to the drive. Again, I am astounded at the generous nature of some people.
Quilters are AmAzInG !!

Givers of their TiMe, EneRgY and cReAtiViTy.
How lucky I am I to have such people I can call  FRIENDS !

What a clever & crafty PuG !

What a WoNdErFuL addition to the BoX and again I say a heart felt THANK YOU  to Crafty Pug.
This Blanket of Love will be cherished by the family who receives it.

An Odd Bod

I saw a pic of a beautiful doorstop on my quilting friend Maria's blog some time ago now. I was really taken by it and want to make it someday so Maria was kind enough to give me the measurements. However in the meantime I needed a bookend (but didn't want the run of the mill type) so I decided to make one and I thought of Maria's stop.
So instead of a doorstop I have a bookstop.
It's made using leftover strips and I didn't even try to match seams or anything, I just made it smaller.
I'm really HaPpY with it and it works great too.

Thanks Maria !!

ThE BoX iS ALmOsT FuLL

I finished hand sewing the binding on another BOL last night while watching a movie. The plot was one which allowed me to sit and sew... enough said?
I finished the quilt off by placing a label on the back... and I also added a little ribbon that says "With All of My Heart" in one corner. As you can see I appliqued a "Heart" to the front as I do on all of my BOL quilts. This one makes 7 blankets in the BoX with another "top" pieced together AND I still have 7 days to go.
How many more can I do????

Oh and by the way......the movie was GoOd...
but finishing the LoVe quilt was BeTTeR !!

EaRLy SwAp

This is to tease Sue who is my November Christmas Quilting Block Swap partner.
I know... I know... I'm early... but as Sue is aware, my in-laws are coming from Canada for a visit next week and I wanted to get a swap in before they arrived. I don't know how much SeWiNg time I'll manage to get in for the next month so....
                                                               I'm EaRLy !!!
Anyway I hope Sue likes my choice and gets to incorporate this block in her project.

I'll pop it in the post on Monday for you Sue.

Visit: Christmas Quilting Block Swaps-Australia  if you're interested in joining this group.  It's FuN !!

PReTTy iN PiNk

I put together another LoVe blanket. This one's a really sweet PiNk coloured top with a cute flannel teddy bear backing. I quilted diamonds, hearts and squares just in the plain blocks and I'm HaPpY with the way it turned out.
Simple... but pretty... although I don't think the pic does it justice.
Anyway that's another BOL into the BoX.

I've been trying to make different styles & colours so they will appeal to the many different cultures and preferences of individual families.

FNSI in OcToBeR

I've decided to make FNSI my BOL project night and I managed to get two "all but" finished.
Phew... made my target tonite!
I picked out the material, cut it, started stitching, then before I knew it,the top was ready for quilting.

I stitched in the ditch with this one and added a featured stitch on the border. I am HaPpY with it .. so now I just have to hand sew the binding in place today. Should get it done!! One down...

Then I cut out another 16 blocks.. sweet hearts & flowers on this fabric... stitched it up, pinned it ready to quilt. On this one I quilted an inner border on each of the yellow blocks.. and it looks great. I'm very HaPpY with this one. Pretty colours although these pic's don't do it justice. Now I just have to stitch over the binding by hand and No 2 will be finished.
***
I also pinned another BOL quilt top that I had ready to go.. so I am ahead on my quota. I had a FaBuLoUs night on this FNSI. Hope you all did too!

Teddy Bears are ALwAyS cute !

What Can Happen When You're Not Looking!

The rain started to come down so I went upstairs today just to decide what to do for FNSI. I decided to work on two "Blankets of Love" each month so that I can donate at least 24 per year to our hospital. The nurse said they require approx 30 per year so I figure I would be well on target.
So yes .. hooray...I have a PLaN for tonights FNSI!
But... in the meantime I have been wanting to replace something I've had for over 20years, so this was just the day for it!
I choose a nice lime green (cause its GrEeN friday) and yellow fabric... a couple of buttons...

and a few minutes later........abracadabra !!!

Meet Mr Pinny.
Then I had lunch and what do you think happened ???
Pinny found a MaTe !
Meet Mrs Pinny.
So after organising some fabric for tonight I went downstairs to make a cup of coffee with hubby.
Of course being a GrEeN person I turned off the lights in my cubbyhole.
WeLL... after only a short time...
Can you guess???
Yep...a new addition to the pinny family....
Baby Pinny

Haven't decided on the name yet...?
Today was  a FuN day....tonight will be just as good.
Why not sign up for "Friday Night Sew In" here.

MoRe Colour on FRiDaYs

Just found a few more GrEeN items around the house!

These items are definitely GrEeN
although it doesn't show here...oops

But their friends are GrEeN
